Stray, abandoned and feral animals inhabiting San Carlos and the surrounding areas, as well as domestic animals belonging to low-income families that would otherwise be without care, are welcome at the clinic.

If a clinic is not scheduled, SBPA A.C. San Carlos can provide a no-cost certificate for veterinary services 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Schedule

Normally, the SBPA A.C. San Carlos Spay/Neuter Clinic is held in the DIF Building in the Ranchitos Campestre neighborhood of San Carlos. Clinics are generally scheduled on Saturdays and are open from 9AM to 4PM. Once a vet has volunteered to support a clinic and a date for the clinic has been set, the information will be posted on the reader boards at the Post Office, Rosas Cantina and the Santa Rosa Market.

Cats and dogs requiring the services of the Spay/Neuter Clinic can be dropped off at the DIF Building anytime during the day of the clinic.

SBPA A.C. San Carlos does not operate an animal shelter nor is it a veterinary care facility.

Certificate for Veterinary Services

The owners of cats and dogs requiring the services of the Spay/Neuter Clinic, but who CANNOT attend a scheduled clinic can obtain a certificate authorizing no-cost services from a local veterinarian. The certificate must be signed by the SBPA A.C. San Carlos presidente/directiva, the president or the clinic director.

To obtain the certificate, or to learn more about how we can help your pets receive the care they need, please contact Clinic Director, Sandy Fahrenwald at 226.1084; Gwen Bouschor at 226.1460; or Email SBPA A.C. San Carlos directly.

Outreach, The Mobile Clinic

Outreach, the name given to the mobile clinic, provides service to the surrounding areas of San Carlos where the people do not have access to veterinary services due to distance, lack of transportation, or lack of funds. To date, Outreach has provided the La Manga Fishing Camp monthly scheduled clinics with the goal of improving the general health of their animals and providing neuter/spay services.

The Outreach program was organized and implemented by Gwen as part of the group's Education Program. SBPA A.C. San Carlos, in conjunction with Dr. Hector Laguna, has been providing this service to La Manga since August of 2007, and plans to expand the service to other outlying communities, where needed.
